Q: My understanding is that the federal organic guidelines are not as stringent as many organic growers and consumers would like. Does your farm strive to exceed those baseline organic guidelines?

A: We feel that the USDA Organic standards are weakening due to the many large corporations getting involved with organics. We encourage folks to know the farmer that they buy from. This is the beauty of shopping at your local farmers markets. When you know who you are buying from you know if the principles and practices of that farmer meet your needs. If knowing the farmer is a stretch we encourage folks to find out about the farm’s practices- this will tell you how much the farm values healthy soil and nutrient-dense food.
